Viacom18 Motion Pictures announces its first Marathi film of 2018 – ‘Aapla Manus’
Mumbai, 29th December 2017: Viacom18 today announced its upcoming Marathi film Aapla Manus, the network’s first regional film of the year. Directed by celebrated director Satish Rajwade, this family thriller has Nana Patekar, Sumeet Raghavan & Irawati Harshe in lead roles. The film explores the story of a young couple living with the man’s father, juggling the pressures of urban life and managing the complexity of relationships. An unexpected incident forces them to question their beliefs about their life and family. Aapla Manus marks actor Ajay Devgan’s foray into the regional film sector as a Producer. Director Sammir I Patel’s short film ‘p f a: Love Mom and Dad’ received praise at prestigious film festivals
Mumbai. Parents always serve as role models to their children. Parenting has also differed sharply from the past. Like-wise as the children grow up, there is a distant relationship between the parents and the children. In recent years, the relationship between parents and children has profoundly changed. Most of the new generation youngsters hardly find time for their parents and look after their needs during their old age.Young and talented filmmaker Sammir I. Patel has made a short film on this subject. Titled as ‘p f a: Love Mom and Dad’ the film in Hindi and English features Yusuf Hussain and Rishi Saxena in its cast. The English version of this short film is complete and is being planned to take it across various International film festivals. Meanwhile, the short film in Hindi version was screened at U.S. Film Festival,Goa Film Festival and Kashmir International Film Festival and received appreciation too. Looking at the positive reception, director Sammir I Patel is gearing up to complete the English version of the short film for various festivals. Excited over the development, Sammir Patel says, “This short film is of 15 minutes duration. It shows the constructive relation between a son and handicapped father. The son transforms his house into a hotel, cinema auditorium and whatsoever according to the mood and requirement and always keeps his father absorbed and happy.” Patel further adds, “It is an emotional film and an eye-opener for today’s generation. I am sending this film to all the short film festivals which will be held this year.” Sammir Patel has forayed into the entertainment arena as an actor. He has acted in various television serials like “Ehsaas”, “Mr. And Mrs. Verma Ki Rasoi”, “Noorjehan” amongst others. He has also acted in Hindi super-hit comedy like “Life is Beautifool”, “Jo Khaye So Pachataye Aur Jo NaaKhaye So Pachtaye” and others. He ventured into direction with music videos, web series, and commercials. Presently his web channel ‘Sip Digital’ is quite appreciated. His earlier web series “Jhappi Jet” was hit too. Last year he had directed a Hindi comedy film ‘Hotel Beautifool’ which is based on a super-hit Hindi comedy play “Baat – Baat Mein Begde Haalat” and was successfully premiered in Canada. Sammir Patel further states, “The film ‘Hotel Beautifool’ will be released this year in India. I am also working on another black comedy film ‘Tata Good Bye’ which will be made and released by this year-end too. Then there is a music video ‘2 GB Ka Pyaar’ and also making a web series ‘Tissue Paper’ for my web channel. Meanwhile, I have also directed a commercial for a Heeng (Asafetida) company with Navni Parihar and Major Bikramjeet which will soon be telecast on various television channels. ”

After a bit role in #ArjunRamphal’s ‘#Daddy’ #AnupriyaGoenka hit the jackpot with the #AliAbbasZafar directed, #Yashraj produced #SalmanKhan starrer ‘#TigerZindaHai’ and given the moolah the espionage action thriller is raking at the Box-office, suddenly her career in films appears to be looking up. And there’s more to come- a sizeable role in the controversy ridden #SanjayLeelaBhansali’s #Padmavati ( soon to be renamed #Padmavat) as Nagmati, Raja Rawal Ratan Singh’s(#ShahidKapoor) first wife, and a starring role in the #NageshKukkunoor directed film ‘#Maya’ Hailing from a fairly conservative background, born and brought up in Lucknow, as part of a conservative Marwari Business family, Anupriya, now 30, began her career in the corporate world and then shifted to ad films, theatre and cinema in that order.
“ Though we have a family business and women were not known to have worked outside the home front, my family left no stone unturned to educate me and allow me the freedom to choose my own destiny. My parents were apprehensive about my career choices at first but there were no restrictions from them-only cautions to be careful.” But after five years in the industry her parents have begun to appreciate her spunk and are appreciative of her forays into acting in cinema. Her scenes with the Godfather of talented struggling actors of the industry in #TigerZindaHai gave her the confidence to believe in her talent. “Salman sir was very encouraging and made me so comfortable that I was able to perform with ease.”
Ask her about playing a role- that of head nurse Poorna, among 25 Indians and 15 Pakistani nurses held captive by Syrian terrorist Abu Usman, similar to that of Parvathy in the award-winning Malayalam film #TakeOff , she shrugs and says “though the character and struggles were similar, there was a lot of dissimilarity in the screenplay and plotting of it. I never saw #TakeOff before doing this film so my view was not colored by #Parvathy’s fantastic performance.” She adds, “Ali Abbas Zafar was clear about what he wanted from me and that’s what you see on screen.” She says she has no favourite directors “ All the directors I have worked with have had something special in them and they managed to draw out the best from me. I am happy with each of my films so far and am looking forward to working with Bollywood’s best.” With her feet grounded and a strong emotive screen presence Anupriya Goenka is sure to go far. Elektro Sufi is coming up with first ever original ‘Yeh Safar’, produced by Go Live Talent & Records It’s high time when the Indian music industry experiments and expands its bandwidth. Taking a step forward in this direction, ElectroSufi -an emerging live act- is gearing up to introduce the audience to a soulful fusion of EDM and Sufi music in combination with live percussion. “I MAKE CINEMA BECAUSE I BELIEVE IN MY DIRECTORS AND STORIES are WORTH TELLING” – Vivek Kajaria Celebrating 4 years of the breakout film “Fandry” which released on Valentines day in 2014, National award winning producer Vivek Kajaria said “It’s been an amazing journey for us with Nagraj from the development to release and subsequent success of Fandry. Video Lighting up Data and Smartphones, Says Hotstar; Big Growth in Users and Engagement Releases the 1st India Watch Report 2018 Mumbai, 22 February 2018: Releasing the first India Watch Report 2018, Hotstar, India’s leading premium streaming platform, today shared insights on the dramatic transformation sweeping the Internet landscape in India. Praising Atif voice, Sudhir Mishra says, “Because like all great singers he has the capacity to bring out the emotional depth of a song but is never sentimental. The words are articulated so brilliantly but there is a touch of mystery. How Rukhsana Took Over Anushka! It is not always that we have a Bollywood A-lister take on the mantel of pushing the Horror genre in Hindi Cinema to the edge and making it fly! And yet, the trailer and screamers of Anushka’s third home production, PARI have definitely made the audience sit back and take note. While little is known about Anushka’s character in the film, an insider tells us that her character in the film is called Rukhsana. Though more details about her role are not known, we found out that the person behind Anushka’s much talked about look in PARI is the well known British Prosthetic Designer, Clover Wootton. Speaking to us, Clover said, “With Rukhsana’s character, we needed to understand that she has been through a lot physically and that is how her look had to be designed. Her hair quality is bad and damaged, her skin would be pale, dry and dirty. The conditions that she has been living in will have had an effect on her body, but at the same time she needed to look attractive too.” With this brief, Wootton set out on her mission, “I deliberately left some oil on her face. Anushka has naturally very beautiful skin so I did absolutely nothing to it and kept it all raw. The light eyes really suited her and the freckles gave the feel of roughness to her skin and the aura that maybe she is not the same as us. The challenge was to make it believable that she is Rukhsana not Anushka.” And going by what one sees of Anushka in the PARI posters, teasers and trailer we can’t agree more with Wootton!
